NGFA welcomes Senate Farm Bill proposal, inclusion of U.S. Grain Standards Act reauthorization and IFEED legislative priorities
ARLINGTON, Va., June 23, 2026 — The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) today welcomed the release of Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman John Boozman’s (R-Ark.) Farm Bill proposal – which includes provisions to reauthorize the U.S. Grain Standards Act, as well as key elements of the Innovative FEED Act (IFEED) legislation – and expressed appreciation for the Chairman’s continued efforts to advance a long-term Farm Bill.
The association is encouraged that the proposal includes several priorities important to the grain, feed, and processing industries, including reauthorization of the U.S. Grain Standards Act, maintenance of the current Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acreage cap, and continued support for export market development programs such as the Market Access Program (MAP) and Foreign Market Development Program (FMD).
Reauthorization of the U.S. Grain Standards Act is critical to ensuring continuity of the federal grain inspection and weighing system that underpins domestic and international confidence in U.S. grain and oilseed markets. These authorities help maintain the reliability, integrity, and competitiveness of the U.S. grain marketing system while avoiding disruptions to official grain inspection services.
The association applauded the inclusion of key elements of IFEED, a bipartisan approach to modernize and streamline the regulatory pathway for non-nutritive animal food ingredients that provide important public and animal health benefits, such as reducing human foodborne illness risks and improving animal production.
NGFA looks forward to reviewing the legislation in greater detail and working with Chairman Boozman, Ranking Member Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), House and Senate leaders, and the administration to secure final passage of a Farm Bill this year. Farmers, agribusinesses, and the entire agricultural value chain need a long-term farm bill that provides certainty this year.
